Kat van Zyl

Kat is a warm-hearted, open-minded psychotherapist driven by a deep desire to support individuals in embracing their fullest potential. With a master’s degree in clinical psychology and a diverse background spanning psychiatric clinics, community outreach projects, correctional centers, running a private practice, and curating women’s wellness retreats, Kat’s multifaceted journey in mental healthcare has allowed her to develop into a versatile practitioner.

Currently pursuing a PhD exploring the biopsychosocial interplay between ADHD, neurodevelopment, and gut health, her passion for holistic mental well-being shines through in both her research and in her client work. She draws inspiration from the field of health psychology, nutritional psychiatry, gut-microbiome-brain connection research, yoga, breathwork, mindfulness practices, and other modalities which contribute to her understanding of the interconnection between body, mind and spirit.

Kat enjoys working with clients of all ages from all walks of life, with a special interest in supporting young people and women on their paths towards healing, self-discovery and personal empowerment. Her process-centred, intuitive approach allows her to integrate a variety of evidence-based practices, tailored to suit each individual’s unique needs depending on where they are in their journeys.

She believes that everyone has the inherent potential to return to a natural state of harmony, given a safe, conducive environment in which authentic connection and unconditional acceptance can create a foundation of trust that paves the way towards true transformation.
