Tom O’Keefe

Tom is Provisional Psychologist registered with AHPRA, currently in the final months of completing his Master of Clinical Psychology. He is also a student member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association.

Previously, Tom has worked across a range of sectors and in a variety of roles, helping him bring a wide range of experience to his therapeutic work. He has experience in the charity sector, working directly with people experiencing homelessness, domestic violence, and the justice system. Tom has also worked in both the retail and communications sectors prior to his work in mental health.

Utilising a collaborative, strength-based approach to care, Tom focuses on helping people through strong therapeutic relationships build on respect, trust, and validation. He works with clients through a multi-disciplinary, evidence-based practices that focus on his client’s individual needs. Tom loves when clients feel comfortable enough that they can express themselves if they feel a particular approach is not working for them, and endeavours to deliver their care holistically.

Tom loves seeing clients of all presentations, cultures, genders, and ages. His particular areas of passion include ADHD, Autism (ASD), addiction, homelessness, and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND).

As a person, Tom looks to find the positive in each situation while still validating the difficulties we all face as humans trying our best to navigate our own unique journeys. Tom values connection with others and self-compassion as two of the biggest cornerstones to his philosophy.
